Capacity Building Through Multi-Level Training Many programs technically supported by NTAG include a strong capacity building component. NTAG builds the capacity of district- and community-level health personnel and volunteers through multi-level trainings, which include innovative techniques and appropriate follow-up to ensure long-term changes in the knowledge and skills of both trainers and their target populations. Emphasizing real-life-driven and local-friendly approaches, NTAG delivers trainings and produces IEC materials based on local availability of resources, feasibility and acceptability to provide the participants with solutions that are usable in their own communities. Each training incorporates self-realization by which the participants accept the problems present in their communities and uses flexible training methods and hands-on learning to internalize understanding among the participants. In addition to building skills of personnel and volunteers in technical areas, NTAG’s trainings consistently include elements to improve the delivery systems in which the participants work. NTAG utilizes techniques such as training different strata of workers together to promote unity and respect, creating a status-free learning environment and promoting regular knowledge exchange between higher- and lower-level workers.
